Goodbye and good luck, Jenny! (Evicted)
Hopefully the last to be forcibly evictee from the house, the "Smart Sassy Girl" Jenny (Jin Sol Kim) of Korea finally stepped out of the Big Brother house. She has been given the boot after the rule violations and failure of her teen housemates to save her - both caused by the Madam X task from last week. But even though she already lost the chance to place in the Big Night, her remaining days inside the house still deserve to be looked back.
In one of her confession conversations with Big Brother, Jenny told him she didn't want the other housemates to know she had already been handed the forced eviction. "Sana hindi nila alam hangga't alis na ako kase diba, hindi magandang mood sa bahay yun (I hope they won't know it until I get out because otherwise, it would really cloud the pleasant atmosphere)," Jenny reasoned.
However, her teen housemates felt dubious about Jenny's frequent trips to the confession room and figured they do something uplifting for her just in case. One morning, Ivan prepared French toast for her while later in the afternoon, the rest of the Teenternational bedspacers and Jenny's original housemates, Bret, James, Ryan and Ann, spent quality pool time with her. With the three Pinoy housemates watching from the kitchen windows, they showed how tight they were with the fun and love they had during their bonding.
But the teen housemates were not the only one with that kind thought in mind for even Big Brother did something for Jenny that was beyond uplifting. He once again called her into the confession room, making her think it was another of those usual calls. What Jenny didn't know was that Big Brother already had her dad, whom she hasn't seen since she was three or four years old, on the phone, waiting for the much-awaited and most wanted conversation with his daughter.
The time came and despite of Jenny's shock, she was still able to sum up the courage to ask her father about the big issue of divorce. "I wasn't being a good husband which brought a lot of pain to your mom; however, I don't put in mind that we really separated because I still feel the same about your mother - I still love her," was his dad's revealing explanation. Jenny was all choked up for having to hear more than what she expected and left her dad a message of love and concern: "Take care of yourself and quit smoking already."
To take the heart-to-heart moments inside the confession room even further, Big Brother asked Jenny to reflect about what changed in her since the first day of her stay inside his house. "Si Jenny, dati po, she was really like alam niya ang tungkol sa sarili niya lamang (The old Jenny thought only of and for herself)," she started. She went on how this certain "Jenny First" perspective stemmed out, which was because of the difficulties of having to move to and adjust in a country where everyone else's culture is different from hers. But now, Jenny said she has learned how to care for other people, even strangers. And without a doubt, "strangers" from the outside world love her in return for the courage and goodness she has showed during her stay.
Ann got the Highest Vote for Big Night
With just one week to go, all are curious and excited about who are going to make it onstage as the Big Winner at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo, Rizal. So to feed those hungry for the initial rankings for the Big Six, Big Brother's three angels a.k.a. hosts Toni Gonzaga, Mariel Rodriguez and Bianca Gonzalez, showed three of the teen housemates in the first, third and fifth spots. Leading the lot is Ann with 18.90% of votes; Bret (17.42%) and Ivan (12.48%) following consecutively.
Bret was chosen to be a Myx VJ
Looks like there's more than one! After a series of VJ-ing skills which involved speaking about weekly tasks and the saddest, funniest and happiest moments, the visiting VJs, Bianca and Chino, were able to pick out four finalists who turned out to be Bret, Ivan, Ryan and Fretzie! But like in any other searches, there can only be one. The choice was made possible after another interview test, wherein each of them were faced with the actual MYX VJ finalists this year. And guess who impressed Bianca and Chino the most? Bret! He "has all the qualities of being a good VJ, only he just had to "believe in his self."
Mariel Rodriguez inside the Big Brother house
Even Uber never runs out of surprises - this time, Big Brother sent in host Mariel Rodriguez into the Big Brother house yesterday to complete a task, which involved her pretending to drown in the house pool to get the current Head Boy Scout Ivan's attention! But if her task was a failure or a success, that you guys have yet to find out!
As for post-birthday shenanigans for Ryan, the teen housemates, in their chess-figures headdresses, tickled Ryan in bed one two afternoons ago until he practically screamed for help from Big Brother. But really, the teen housemates' motive was a good one: they treated him to a free cucumber-based face massage! Another treat for him was given by one of his closest friends inside the house, James, who styled his wet hair after they went swimming the same afternoon.
The Friday group, Pots, Joe, Patrick, Eslove and Kazel, were able to deliver their jokes successfully, by Mariel's standards, after entrancing the show by miming a mini fashion show. As a plus, two of Double Up's former Big Five members Jason and Paul Jake were also there to add to the excitement of the afternoon, and also as if to give a memorable despedida for Tricia, whose last guest co-hosting is today.
In other news, be at the Pinoy Big Brother house tomorrow at 7pm with your PBB limited edition magazines. Several former housemates will be there to get them signed! See you all!
Pinoy Big Brother magazine Limited Edition!
The boys continue to make a ruckus inside the Big Brother house: Ryan and Ivan challenged each other to a race around the poolside after while Bret invented a new junk food-based sandwich, which he shared with Ann who came into the kitchen for a taste!
On the other hand, the all-girl Thursday group, made up of Shey, April, Kyra, Yen and Becca, showed up dancing on Uber this afternoon in their pink-and-brown plaid school uniforms. Afterward, they were put on the spot to crack some jokes. Becca's chimney pun and Kyra's Sisa one were the ones who made it to Mariel's funny list!
The new Pinoy Big Brother limited edition magazine is already out! Tell all your family and friends and altogether, grab your copies from your favorite bookstores and magazine outlets. Also, don't forget to party with Ryan, the rest of the teen housemates and his special guests tonight on Primetime!
Ryan never goes out of style! With his 19th birthday coming up, he just gained more attraction, no, attention from his fellow teen housemates. First, they teased him two nights ago about missing Jenny, who was at that time being held captive by Madam X. Usually the one who jokes around, now he got the boot! He tried to deny the "accusation" by telling Devon off with, "Hey, don't make stories!" But obviously, Jenny was one of his closest friend inside the Big Brother house and surely, he missed her in her temporary absence, together with Fretzie.
Another naughty thing the teen housemates did to - no, for - Ryan was to hide away the toiletries needed for Mother Nature calls. When he went into the toilet to do his business, James and Ivan took off with the toilet paper! In turn, Ryan couldn't finish what he started and begged for help from his teen housemates. Unfortunately, James and Ivan were feeling more prank-y than friendly and mocked Ryan's shoutout by cutting out small plies of tissue into even tinier pieces! "There, we're giving you 12 and that's enough!" James said, offering those along with Ivan when they entered the bathroom.
The teen housemates inside the house were not the only ones giving "tribute" to the birthday boy. In fact, the Wednesday group today came in fully clad in those rainbow-colored traditional Korean costumes. They even prepared a special dance to the tune of Wondergirls's Nobody, which really stood as an offering to Ryan's special hobby in dancing. And similar to yesterday's group, April, Jack, Carson, Richard and Sophia also threw some new jokes that surprisingly pleased host Mariel Rodriguez and guest co-host and former teen housemate Tricia. In return, Mariel asked them how they would react if they were put into the shoes of the Pinoy teen housemates last night, wherein they were made to choose which among the Teenternational bedspacers should be forcibly evicted. While the boys said they would definitely buzz to save Jenny, April and Sophia were more hesitant to come up with such a difficult decision. There are good things about not being a housemate anymore, eh?
Anyway, celebrate with Ryan's birthday bash and find out when Jenny is leaving the house by watching PBB Teen Clash of 2010 Uber and Primetime! Also, don't forget to keep sending in your entries for the Go Six for the Big Night!
PBB Jenny tries to escape from captivity
Nobody with their minds in the right place would want to be kidnapped so certainly Jenny did not want to be! Even so, she handled it well as seen on how she acted during her capture under Madam X. Blindfolded and arms-and-legs-cuffed, singing Taylor Swift and Yeng Constantino songs was one way she found to be able to entertain herself. But when her lyrics ran out, so did her patience for the hold-off for a trip to the restroom. She then pleaded Madam X about attending to a Mother Nature call by crying out, "I really need to pee already!" over and over again until one of the sidekicks carried her out to where she needed to be. Later on when she got back, she was more aggressive about being freed from the so-called Madam X and convinced Fretzie of ways to escape. "I was kidnapped when I was little and they let me off because I was too talkative. Now I will talk and talk until they let us go!" she said indignantly. Fretzie, always the quiet graceful one even in times of danger and pressure, just nodded and stayed close to Jenny so as to express her support for her fellow kidnapee. Will Jenny's tactic let them both of the hook from the evil Madam X? Will they make it back to their fellow teen housemates in the Villa house within the 24-hour limit? Will the teen housemates be able to save the two?
On the other hand, the Tuesday group consisting of Kazel, Eslove, Maichel, Patrick and Yong made Uber more, uh, comic-musical than usual! After a bit of stomping to the Black Eyed Peas's Imma Be, they tried to give host Mariel Rodriguez and special co-host Tricia Santos (yes, she'll be there for the whole week!) a laugh... in which, they quite failed since their made-up jokes were not only a bit retro and lame-o! Will the Wednesday group do better than what they did? See tomorrow by watching PBB Teen Clash Uber! Also, don't forget to tune in to Primetime later as Big Brother announces another possible forced eviction!
PBB Fretzie and Jenny Kidnapped!
Kuya called Ivan and Jenny in the Confession Room to entrust the boxes containing the money they got from the fund-raising. P200,000 in cold cash were split in two boxes, and it was up to the housemates to keep it safe. The housemates grew wary of the set-up, believing that someone had a task to steal the money, so they decided to make sure the money was well-hidden.
Kuya seemed nowhere in sight, and they only got their prompts from messages from the plasma screen. The teens had to make up their beds, and new beddings were sent in. In the middle of their chore, Devon noticed a cellular phone among the folds of her comforter. It wasn’t long before all eyes focused on it, bothered by its ringing. To answer or not to answer? Contact without consent and use of cellular phones were prohibited in Kuya’s house, and the housemates decided to pass on the ringing cellphone. Ivan shrewdly commented, “May money, may phone: temptation talaga.”
All would have been well had there not arrived a note that said, “Paki sagot and tawag, importante lang.” After much argument, the call was answered and a lady asked for Fretzie. The called, who identified herself as Madam X, asked her to stay away from the group and informed her that Kuya had a task for her and Jenny: to get the 2 boxes of money without being detected, in exchange for a prize. The two pulled it off successfully, and were ready to meet Madam X at the Apartment. Jenny figured out the ruse too late, and both her and Fretzie were tied and blindfolded against their will. Since they were hauled and made to ride around in a van, they did not know that they were just in another part of the Apartment. Madam X taunted the two girls for being gullible, especially Fretzie who did not even ask who or why. Jenny was freaking out and telling Fretzie off for trusting easily and letting her believe it was Kuya who gave the directive. Madam X continued to tease them by reminding them of the 24-hour rule. Given the situation, will their housemates be willing to save them?
It was quite some time before the other housemates noticed the absence of Fretzie and Jenny. They had a sudden hunch to check the money, and true enough, both boxes were nowhere in sight. A note came that said: “Uto-uto pala kayo. Big 6 ba ‘yan?” It was followed by another with a photo of Fretzie and Jenny tied up. Madam X called the housemates and directed them to bring all the pillows, plates, furniture and clothes of any 2 housemates outside, in exchange of the freedom of the two girls. The housemates immediately comply, disregarding the house rule that they were not allowed to move the furniture.
Madam X sent a video message next, with Fretzie and Jenny crying out for help. Ryan replied with a video of his own, that irks Madam X. Because of it, she has decided to return just one housemate. Given just 10 minutes to decide, just who will the teen housemates pick and what factors would lead to their decision?
Trust is important, and it is precisely because of its importance that it is not freely given to just anyone. Kuya believes that teens should know who and how to trust. Placed in an extreme situation, the housemates’ characters will surface, seen through their choices and actions. Who will follow the rules? Who will stand up and stand out? All these will help in answering the biggest question this season: Who deserves to be the Teen Big Winner?
PBB The Big Debate: Freedom of speech
In celebration of Independence Day, Kuya gave the teens the freedom to express themselves on a Freedom Wall. To stress the importance of this gift, the teens’ hands were tied to each other, and they had to figure out some other way to write their sentiments. They used their toes to pick up the pens and their mouths to write on the board. The second round was more serious, where the teens shared their beliefs about freedom. “I love freedom with responsibility,” said Jenny. “Kapag walang responsibility, hindi kalayaan ‘yun.” After the activity, they were allowed to shower for more than the allotted 5 minutes, a luxury Ryan took advantage of by striking several poses while bathing.
With the Big Night just a few days away, Kuya held the usual Big Debate. This is held every season to help the public figure out who truly deserves to be the Big Winner. Kuya’s angel, Bianca Gonzales, moderated the event. Defending the Teenternationals were this season’s ex-housemates April Sun and Richard Na were backed up by PBB Teen Edition Plus’ Rona Libby. UP DebSoc’s Garie Oano and Trixia Ann Tanedo and Mojo Jojo were also vocal defenders for Team Teenternationals. For the Pinoy housemates, this season’s ex-housemates Joe and Shey were joined by Mikey Lee, the 2nd Teen Big Placer from the first PBB Teen Edition. Also in the Pinoy housemates’ side were DJ Charlie and PLM Debate Team’s Pauleen Mae Capacete and Camille Antonio.
Fivepropositions were presented, and each was stated individually to the teen housemates at an earlier time. The debaters would listen to the housemates’ stand and defend their group accordingly. The ex-housemates were the most vocal, having a personal connection to the topic at hand. Rona Libby and Mikey Lee gave intellectual points that were backed up by their own experiences as housemates. The debaters from UP and PLM also added their two cents as outsiders who have studied their subjects, while Mojo Jojo and DJ Charlie injected wit and opinions from the media angle. Strong points raised that affected all aspects were the Pinoys’ backstabbing and the Teenternational’s roots.
Here are the five propositions: 1. The Teenternationals are more diligent than Pinoy housemates. 2. The Pinoy housemates are more disciplined than the Teenternationals. 3. The Pinoy houseamtes brought more entertainment than the Teenternationals. 4. The Teenternationals are better leaders than the Pinoy housemates. 5. The Pinoy housemates deserve to be the Teen Big Winner. Rona Libby closed their argument by reminding people that it is the values that define being Pinoy, and it is these that one has to look at in choosing the Teen Big Winner. Mikey Lee closed their side by reminding people to take note of who mirrors their own dreams and who it was that their heart reached for. In the end, it is still the majority vote that would decide. It is each one’s voice that would be heard. Make that vote, Kapamilya, and cast it wisely.
Voting is still open for all 8 housemates. Just key in BB and send it to 2331 for Globe, TM, Sun Cellular, and Bayan Wireless landline or 231 for Smart and Talk n Text. Make that informed choice. Vote wisely.
PBB Tricia and Mariel Uber face-off
It is not exactly a secret how host Mariel Rodriguez is fond of the latest evictee Tricia Santos when she was still inside the Big Brother house - every time there was a reel about her, Mariel would never fail to voice her comment and sometimes would scrunch her face up into Tricia's signature facial expressions... not to make fun of her, but for fun! That was why her glee when Tricia showed up on Uber earlier was uncontainable, she even blurted out "We're like sisters!" to her to show how excited she was to have her on the episode. Mariel was also all praises on Tricia's height - "Grabe, 5'7! Nakaheels pa ko today ha! (Wow, 5'7! And I'm already in heels today, huh!) - and her special guesting on The Buzz yesterday, where she was given the chance to clear the issues about and surrounding her stay inside the Big Brother house and her relationship towards her fellow teen housemates. As for her message to her fans and "best friends," she said, "Sa mga nagmamahal saken, maraming salamat po. Lumalaban po ako dahil sa inyo. At sa mga haters, este, best friends ko, dahil sa inyo, di ko mararamdaman ang pagmamahal ng supporters ko. (To all who support me, thank you so much. I fight for all of you. And to my haters, I meant, best friends, if not for you, I wouldn't have been able to feel the love of my supporters for me)."
But actually, Tricia wasn't the only former teen housemate who hang out with Mariel this afternoon. All evictees but Shey (who is currently sick) were all there to come together for the special two-week countdown on Uber! Each of them were divided into day groups: Monday consists of Yen, Kyra, Jovic and Joe; Tuesday with Yong, Eslove, Patrick, Kazel and Maichel; Wednesday involves April, Jack, Carson, Richard and Sophia; Thursday includes Becca, April, Yen and Kyra (again), while Friday group is made up of Pots, Joe, Eslove, Patrick and Kazel. Wouldn't anybody say Uber's gotten more exciting now that the season's creeping up into its final days!
